Vortex Design was founded way back in 1999, in the booming days of the internet. Back then, all you needed to be successful in web design was the most rudimentary knowledge of HTML, Photoshop and FTP. The first incarnation of Vortex Design, was much more primitive as a result of this (but still pretty cool for the time). In the eleven years since Vortex Design started, both I and the internet have evolved quite a bit.

I have been lucky enough to work with clients like ExxonMobil, JEI Enterprises ( the makers of Chia Pet, Garden Weasel, The Clapper and more ), Enron Corp. ( yes, that Enron ), a number of great non-profit agencies, artists, luxury auto parts dealers, home builders, medical professionals and so much more. With each project, my skills developed further and after years of fantastic challenges I can do more for any small business than I ever thought possible.

Need Ebay auction templates or management? I can do that. Need Google Adwords campaign creation, optimization and management? I can do that. Need custom graphic design, digital photography or illustration? I can do that too. VortexDesign.com is currently based in Youngstown, Ohio. In addition to Youngstown, we also provide our services to Boardman, Canfield, Austintown, Columbiana, Salem, Liberty, Niles, Warren and many other cities and townships in the Northeast Ohio area. I am also more than happy to help clients nationwide and such clients can be assured of the same personalized, local service that my nearby clients receive. The only difference for customers outside of our local service area is that I will not be able to meet with you in person. Not that I wouldn’t love to travel more, it’s just a bit out of my budget for now.

If you do not hear back from us in 2 business days, we will send you a coupon for 50% off our hourly rate for your next project! Of course, this offer does have a few restrictions (as all good offers do)….. First, an email actually has to be sent to us in the first place, to receive the offer. VortexDesign.com or any of it’s representatives will NEVER make you sign a contract. At the most, and this will be rare, we will both sign a work agreement (with simple language and no catches) where I agree to do the work you hire me for and you agree to pay for any work you authorize. That’s it. I don’t want to force anyone to work with me. I will never hold your work hostage over a contract dispute, so long as you’ve paid for the work of course. I will never prevent you from “going to the other guy”. I just wouldn’t do that to anyone.

Basically, if you “hire” me to do your project for you, you can “fire” me at anytime, or alter the project parameters at any time and you will only have to pay me for work I’ve actually done. No entanglements, no messes, no hard feelings. Pretty simple, huh?

P.S. The only exceptions to this rule are when you, the client, insist upon a contract or when there is a large or long term corporate or government project.

Simplicity is key

At VortexDesign.com, we believe in taking the shortest route needed to accomplish your goals. This does not mean we take shortcuts. What it does mean, is that we will not oversell our services just to make a bigger profit. If you are a small business in need of a shopping cart we will help you set up a simple shopping cart account, through a free third party, instead of trying to sell you a ridiculously complicated e-commerce solution. For another example, if your site does not “need” Flash or extra bells and whistles, we won’t try to sell them to you.
We always do our best to accomplish your goals simply and succinctly. It saves you time, money and tons of hassle. Not only that, but simple solutions are much easier to maintain in the long run, saving you even more time and money. Now, don’t get us wrong, we CAN take the complicated route; we CAN go into ridiculous detail if needed and will happily do so if requested, but we won’t go that route unless it is something you request or truly need.
